Affine stress support conjecture for spheres without large missing faces

Let 2id/22\leq i\leq d/2, let ΔS(di,d1)\Delta\in S(d-i,d-1), and let pp be a generic or natural embedding of Δ\Delta in Rd\mathbb{R}^d. An affine ii-stress is an element of the affine stress space of (Δ,p)(\Delta,p). Affine stress support conjecture. Every (i1)(i-1)-face of Δ\Delta participates in some affine ii-stress on (Δ,p)(\Delta,p).

The paper states that this conjecture is disproved, so it is false in the stated generality.
