The finite-length Gorenstein conjecture

Let RR be a commutative Noetherian local ring and let MM be a finitely generated RR-module. Assume that MM has finite length and that Gdim(M)\operatorname{Gdim}(M), the Gorenstein dimension of MM, is finite. Finite-length Gorenstein conjecture. Then RR is Gorenstein. The source calls this a well-known conjecture connected with the preceding grade conjecture; no resolution is given in the supplied text.
