Gross–Prasad–Rallis genericity criterion

Let bbGbbG be a connected reductive group over bbFbbF, let bbphibbphi be an bbSL2bbSL_2-parameter, and let L(s,bboperatornameAd\circbbphi)L(s,bboperatorname{Ad}\circbbphi) denote its adjoint LL-factor. Gross–Prasad–Rallis conjecture. The LL-packet of bbphibbphi contains a generic representation if and only if L(s,bboperatornameAd\circbbphi)L(s,bboperatorname{Ad}\circbbphi) is holomorphic at s=1s=1.

This criterion is attributed in the source to Gross–Prasad and Rallis. The supplied text gives no resolution status.
