Signature independence of pure supergroup gauge-theory partition functions
Signature independence of pure supergroup gauge-theory partition functions
A pure supergroup gauge theory is defined by a stack of D4-branes (or D5-branes) surrounded by NS5-branes, whose signatures specify the solid or dashed NS5-brane choices. Its partition function is denoted by .
Signature-independence conjecture. The partition function does not depend on the signatures of the NS5-branes surrounding the stack of D4-branes (or D5-branes), nor on the order of the D-branes.
This conjecture asserts invariance under changes of the brane signatures and ordering, extending the analogous property of the pure supersymmetric Yang–Mills case. The source provides no evidence of a proof or disproof.
