Manin–Mumford conjecture for formal groups

Let GG be a semi-abelian variety. Define a special subvariety to be a translate of a semi-abelian subvariety of GG by a torsion point, and call the zero-dimensional special subvarieties special points. Manin–Mumford conjecture. Every irreducible component of the Zariski closure of a set of special points is a special subvariety. The paper recalls this classical formulation as background for its study of analogous statements for pp-divisible formal groups. The supplied text does not assert a new formal-group version in this candidate span or provide status evidence beyond the classical conjectural formulation.
