Minimal volume conjecture for non-classical virtual links
Minimal volume conjecture for non-classical virtual links
Let a non-classical virtual link mean a virtual link that is not classical, and measure its volume by the volume of its tg-hyperbolic representative. The virtual trefoil is the virtual knot represented by the indicated genus-one surface-link pair.
Minimal volume conjecture. The minimal volume non-classical virtual link is the virtual trefoil, with a volume of approximately .
The preceding lower bounds reduce the problem to comparing virtual knots of genus one; the conjecture is related to the conjectured minimal-volume three-cusped manifold, the minimally twisted three-component chain link.
