Degree-two and degree-three recovery for symmetric cryo-EM

Let H=Z/LZSO(3)H=\mathbb{Z}/L\mathbb{Z}\subset\mathrm{SO}(3) be generated by rotation through 2π/L2\pi/L about the zz-axis, and consider homogeneous projected cryo-EM with SS shells and FF frequencies restricted to the HH-fixed subspace. Symmetric cryo-EM conjecture. For every S2S\geq2, F2F\geq2, and L2L\geq2, generic list recovery is possible at degree 33. It is possible at degree 22 if and only if F<LF<L. The statement is based on tests of small examples; when F<LF<L, the signal in fact has the larger SO(2)\mathrm{SO}(2) symmetry.
