The classification conjecture for nice holomorphic vertex operator algebras of central charge 24

Let VV be a nice, holomorphic vertex operator algebra of central charge 2424, and let V1V_1 denote its weight-one subspace with its induced Lie algebra structure. Classification conjecture. There are exactly 7171 such vertex operator algebras up to isomorphism. They are uniquely determined by the Lie algebra structure of V1V_1, and the complete list is given in Table 1 of Schellekens (1993). This conjecture seeks the classification of nice, holomorphic vertex operator algebras at central charge 2424; the source presents it as the main outstanding goal of the classification programme.
