Let $V$ be a nice, holomorphic vertex operator algebra of central charge $24$, and let $V_1$ denote its weight-one subspace with its induced Lie algebra structure. Classification conjecture. There are exactly $71$ such vertex operator algebras up to isomorphism. They are uniquely determined by the Lie algebra structure of $V_1$, and the complete list is given in Table 1 of Schellekens (1993). This conjecture seeks the classification of nice, holomorphic vertex operator algebras at central charge $24$; the source presents it as the main outstanding goal of the classification programme.
