Mixed André–Oort conjecture

Let SS be a connected mixed Shimura variety and let YY be an irreducible subvariety of SS. Mixed André–Oort conjecture. If the special points of SS contained in YY are Zariski dense in YY, then YY is a special subvariety of SS. The source states that the enlarged mixed André–Oort conjecture directly implies this mixed version and describes substantial known cases, including mixed Shimura varieties of abelian type and results conditional on generalized Riemann hypotheses; the general statement remains unresolved in the supplied text.
