The BLMPR conjecture on effective theta characteristics of tropical plane quartics

Let XX be a smooth plane quartic and assume that its tropicalization Γ\Gamma is tropically smooth. The seven odd theta characteristics of Γ\Gamma are the tropicalizations of four effective theta characteristics of XX, counted with multiplicity.

BLMPR conjecture. Each of the seven odd theta characteristics of Γ\Gamma is the specialization of four effective theta characteristics of XX, counted with multiplicity.

This conjecture concerns the specialization of theta characteristics from algebraic plane quartics to tropically smooth tropical plane quartics. It was established by Chan and Jiradilok for tropical plane quartics of the combinatorial type known as K4K4-curves; the parser records the conjecture as resolved.
