The augmented Zagreb index–atom-bond connectivity index extremal tree conjecture

Let TT be a tree on nn vertices. The augmented Zagreb index AZIAZI and the atom-bond connectivity index ABCABC are graph invariants of TT.

Extremal tree conjecture. The nn-vertex tree TT has the maximum AZIAZI value if and only if TT has the minimum ABCABC index.

This conjecture proposes that the trees maximizing the augmented Zagreb index are exactly the trees minimizing the atom-bond connectivity index. The source presents it as an open conjecture; no resolution is given there.
