Collective contraction conjecture for empty ovals
Collective contraction conjecture for empty ovals
Let be any smooth real plane curve of degree , and let its empty ovals be the components whose interiors contain no other real components. Collective contraction conjecture. All empty ovals can be shrunk simultaneously toward solitary nodes. The source presents this as a stronger, apparently open version of the Itenberg–Viro contraction principle.
