The PFA equiconsistency conjecture
The PFA equiconsistency conjecture
Let PFA denote the Proper Forcing Axiom, and let a supercompact cardinal be a cardinal with the usual supercompactness property. PFA equiconsistency conjecture. PFA is equiconsistent with the existence of one supercompact cardinal. The consistency of PFA and related forcing axioms is known relative to one supercompact cardinal; the exact consistency strength is the central unresolved issue addressed by this conjecture.
