Ontological single pure state conjecture
Ontological single pure state conjecture
Let a quantized system be described by a quantum state, and let a definite context mean a single orthonormal basis, block, maximal observable, or unitary operator. A two-valued measure assigns values to the observables in such a context.
Ontological single pure state conjecture. A quantized system is in a state corresponding to a two-valued measure on a single definite context; ontologically, there does not exist any observable beyond the observables representing that context.
The conjecture is motivated by quantum value-indefiniteness and the limited value-definiteness permitted by the Kochen–Specker assumptions. Its status is not established by the supplied text.
