Versality detected by Sylow subgroups

From papers

Let GG be a finite group acting faithfully on a variety XX. For each prime pp, let GpG_p be a Sylow pp-subgroup of GG. Sylow versality conjecture. The variety XX is GG-versal if and only if, for every prime pp, XX is GpG_p-versal. This would extend the corresponding result for complete non-singular toric varieties to arbitrary varieties, using that versality is a birational invariant.
