Gromov's generic-group conjecture for smooth actions

A random-group model is a probabilistic model producing finitely generated groups. Gromov's generic-group conjecture. There should exist a model for random groups in which a generic random group admits no smooth actions on compact manifolds. The conjecture concerns the expected scarcity of smooth actions among generic groups; the source gives no resolution.
