Borel conjecture

In geometric topology, the Borel conjecture asserts that an aspherical closed manifold is determined by its fundamental group, up to homeomorphism. It is a rigidity conjecture, asserting that a weak, algebraic notion of equivalence should imply a stronger, topological notion.
