The totally ramified point conjecture for disks

Let KK, ff, VV, pp, nn, and ee be as in Lemma~, and let kk be the residue field of KK. Assume that kk is perfect.

Totally ramified point conjecture. There is a point α\alpha in the disk VV such that K(α)/KK(\alpha)/K is totally ramified and

[K(α):K]pe.[K(\alpha):K]\leq p^e.

The paper identifies this statement as the key extension of Lemma~ needed to establish the preceding conjecture. It remains open in the supplied text.
